With less than a month to go to the World Cup, Multichoice Ghana is ready to screen all the 64 matches of the 2014 FIFA World in Brazil on SuperSport, broadcaster of premium sports program on DStv.
Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroun, Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire will fly the continent’s flag with hopes of lifting the prestigious trophy.
General Manager, Mr Cecil Sunkwa – Mills, announced that DStv and GOtv subscribers will get to watch all the matches with the best picture and sound quality available. There is also the added perk of watching live matches on the SuperSport HD channels on DStv. DSTV will dedicate two channels to broadcast 24 hours all the developments of the event, including news, player updates, match highlights, expert analyses and replays.
Also for the first time, games will be available on all DSTV bouquets, from Premium to the Access package. For Premium subscribers, the Explora decoder will be able to record the late night games and catch them the next day.
He went on to say; “In addition to the world-class broadcast quality that is our trademark and which our subscribers will enjoy, they will also have access to insightful football analysis and thrilling magazine programs which will showcase the stories outside the field of play. We have four special shows specifically produced to further showcase the World Cup, Brazil and the fans. Most importantly, we will also give expert insight and analysis from our unmatched line up of presenters and studio guests. GOTv subscribers will also be able to watch most of the World Cup matches on Supersport Select”.
Dubbed “We are Brasil”, Multichoice is running a promotion on DStv decoders for Ghanaians who are yet to get connected to the pay tv platform. The single view decoder is being offered for GHC148 and the Explora for GHC909.
Potential subscribers can sign onto GOtv with the “GO Brasil” promo for GHC140 for a full set with a months subscription and giveaways whilst Hisense has also partnered with GOtv to offer a bundle package with the GOtvCard as follows: a 32 inch TV with GOcard and 6 months GOtv subscription for GHC1150 and a 39 inch TV with GOcard and 12 months subscription for GHC1800.
Marketing Manager, Anne Sackey also pointed out that due to the late broadcast of some of the games, the DStv mobile devices and the Explora decoder will come in handy, in ensuring viewers do not miss out on any of the action during the World Cup.
“The Walka 7 allows you to watch in traffic, and in the office, while the Explora with its two terabytes memory, gives viewers the opportunity to record all the games, right onto the decoder, and keep them for good,” observed Ms Sackey.
She added that “DStv subscribers can maximise their experience of football during the World Cup with the Catch Up feature on the Explora decoder, by accessing the stacked content and watching previously aired soccer matches”.
